Project SummaryReducing the Risk (RTR) Evaluation
DescriptionThis project studied the impact of Reducing the Risk (RTR), a 16-session theory-based and skill-based sex education program designed for schools. Its focus is on unintended pregnancy/HIV/STD prevention. While it was initially designed for 9th and 10th grades, it is appropriate for later grades and can be adapted to earlier grades depending upon the sexual behaviors of the students. It includes considerable role-playing to increase skills and change norms, and gives a clear message about remaining abstinent or using condoms or other forms of contraception.
