Lisa Russell, Ph.D. - Senior Research Scientists

Dr. Russell’s research interests include health resilience and risk among children, youth, and adults and opportunities for prevention and early intervention. Her research incorporates developmental and ecological perspectives whereby she examines the feasibility and impact of changes made along the lifespan and at multiple levels of influence, such as: the physical and social environments, service systems, agencies, families and individuals.

Dr. Russell works primarily within ETR’s Behavioral Health and Chronic Disease Prevention & Management program areas. Her Behavioral Health work has been in the context of interpersonal violence, mental illness, substance abuse, and youth homelessness. Her work in the Chronic Disease Prevention and Management program area has been focused on evaluating school-based nutrition and physical activity interventions and exploring community-based supports for Type 2 diabetes self management for diverse populations.
